Viewpoint of Bataria da Vitória

Viewpoint da Vitoria is located on Rua da Bataria da Vitória in the Portuguese city of Porto. It offers an excellent wide view of the historic center of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia and guarantees good panoramic photos. It is private property, but its owners leave the facility available to visitors free of charge. In front of the point there is a gate with a sign saying that it is a private area, but it is usually open and admission is allowed.

The vantage point was built at the end of the 18th century on the initiative of Joao Almada. The place along with the surrounding buildings was sold by the Foundation for the Development of the Historical Zone of Porto as part of privatization.
