Church of the Holy Trinity

Local name: Igreja da Santíssima Trindade

Igreja da Santissima Trindale, or the Church of the Holy Trinity, is a nineteenth-century temple that is a jewel of the neoclassical style in Porto. You can watch here, among others work of the painter José de Brito, depicting the baptism of Christ. In the church you will also find Polish accents - a picture of Jesus from the view of sister Faustina and the statue of Saint. John Paul II. Due to the good acoustics, classical and organ music concerts are often organized here. You can also find the tomb of the temple architect, Carlos Amarante.

The Holy Trinity Church was opened in 1841, during the time of the great flourishing of the central part of the city. It is located near the city hall and Trinidade station - the main communication hub of Porto. This is not a known tourist attraction, perhaps because of the lack of characteristic for most churches in the city of azulejo. However, it is worth visiting because of the interesting sculptures and paintings.
