The Church of Saint Nicholas in Lisbon is a late Baroque stone building, whose interior is decorated with neoclassical paintings with scenes from the life of the patron. The church has a simple facade divided by pilasters. The interior is finished with multi-colored marble.
The church of Saint Nicholas was built at the end of the 13th century. However, it did not survive the 1755 earthquake. The current temple was erected at the end of the 18th century and received interior design at the beginning of the 19th century.
The church has one nave, with a simple façade topped with a tympanum. The three-nave interior is covered with marble decoration. The presbytery has a late baroque marble altar with a high, carved throne of the Blessed Sacrament. On the vault you can see neoclassical paintings depicting scenes from the life of Saint Nicholas.
