The church of Saints Christopher and St. Lawrence is located on the Escadinhas de São Cristóvão hill above the center of Lisbon. It is a baroque stone one-nave building with a two-tower facade. The interior is decorated with baroque paintings in gilded frames.
The church was built in the 13th century, but at the beginning of the 17th century it was fire. Part of the Gothic walls have been preserved buttresses. They are visible in the presbytery. During the earthquake in 1755, the temple was damaged, but it did not collapse, like many other churches.
It is a small, one-nave church. The facade is flanked by two towers covered with domed helmets. The interior has one nave and is covered with a flat ceiling. There are Baroque paintings depicting Our Lady of the Assumption and floral ornaments. The main altar is decorated with the golden throne of the Blessed Sacrament. In the shoulder side altars you can see sculptures of saints, including church patrons.
