Middle Oder Book Museum
Local name: Muzeum Książki Środkowego Nadodrza
The Central Nadodrze Book Museum in Zielona Góra is located on the top floor of the Municipal Public Library. The museum's collections relate to the history of Polish books and libraries in the region of Lubusz Land and Lower Silesia. The museum is also devoted to the interpenetration of Polish and German cultures in these regions.
The Central Nadodrze Book Museum in Zielona Góra has been operating since 2005. Among the exhibits you can find manuscripts, documents and prints. The exhibition covers the history of the book from the 11th century to 1947. The contemporary department of the museum consists of three parts.
The first concerns Polish writers who have visited the region of Lower Silesia and the Lubusz Land. The second part is devoted to writers. who lived and worked in this region but are currently living or living elsewhere. Whereas the third part is a literary salon, which was devoted to the work of writers currently living and writing in Lower Silesia and the Lubusz Land.
