Stefan Myczkowski Hulskie Nature Reserve

Local name: Rezerwat przyrody Hulskie im. Stefana Myczkowskiego

The "Hulskie" forest reserve named after the outstanding botanist and ecologist prof. Stefan Myczkowski, is located on the southern slopes of Otryt. In its area, a nature and educational trail was marked out with information boards. Wandering around the reserve, you can admire, among others wonderful forests forming the so-called Carpathian beech forest - a sanctuary for many animal species. There are also plants rare in Poland, e.g. common fern. Along the way, a characteristic element of the Bieszczady landscape is noteworthy - currently closed retorts in which charcoal was once burned.

Nearby is the Hulskie peak, to which the reserve created in 1983 got its name. At the entrance to the 190 ha area of the reserve, there is an obelisk unveiled in 2014 dedicated to prof. Myczkowskiemu. The easiest way to get here is from the nearby village of Sękowiec.

Nearby there is a blue tourist trail leading through the Otryt massif, while on the other side of the San stretch the picturesque areas of former villages, including Krywego and Hulski.
