Renovated in 2011, the Zamość synagogue is the best-preserved late-Renaissance Jewish home in Poland. Built during the formation of the ideal city in Zamość, it presents architectural coherence with its other objects and preserves at the same time typical synagogue elements. The "Synagogue" Center is now in operation. There are multimedia exhibitions on the history of Jews in Zamość and its surroundings.
While building Zamość - a renaissance ideal city, Jan Zamoyski decided that it would be a place for all religious groups living in this area. For Jews there was a district near the Market Square. Its center was a synagogue.
The synagogue is a square-shaped building, with a rectangular batik. It is decorated by a renaissance renaissance. The walls and vaults inside the building are covered with stucco decorations, which are a replica of those of the Zamość Cathedral. In the eastern wall there is a decorated niche on the Torah - aron ha ha.
