Góra Choina Nature Reserve
Local name: Rezerwat przyrody Góra Choina
Choina Mountain Nature Reserve was established in 1957 in the Wałbrzych Mountains in the Middle Sudetes. Its area is 19 hectares. It was created with the intention of protecting the mixed forest on the hillside of Choina Hill (450 m above sea level) and the monument in the form of the ruins of the Piast Castle in Grodno.
The reserve borders on the south with the dam water of Lake Lubachowskie. On top of it you can see the ruins of the largest Silesian castle. There is a museum here, whose exhibits feature items found in place after the Second World War.
As for the real castle, Grodno has his own White Lady. According to one of the legends, it is the spirit of the lady of this castle, who plunged into her life after losing her husband - in the light of the moon she threw herself into the well. There is a skeleton in the dungeon with which the legend also relates - the disobedient daughter was here to be punished for being punished by the king's father.
