Riese is one of the biggest mysteries of the Third Reich to this day. The devastating Allies bombings on Germany forced the Third Reich to hide their strategic production of armaments in the region of the Owl Mountains. The construction of the underground stronghold started in 1943 and lasted to 1945. The Osówka complex is characterized by the highest advancement level of the construction works carried out in the Owl Mountains. The purpose of this object is unknown to this day. According to various sources, it was to serve as a secret headquarters of Adolf Hitler or a great underground armament complex. The track opened for visits is one of the three tracks in Riese. According to the newest research, the entire underground complex is much larger and because of that discovery, perfectly hidden and disguised objects are still looked for.Less
