Wrocław Contemporary Museum

Local name: Muzeum Współczesne Wrocław

Operating since 2011, the museum is an example of a cultural facility which promotes the modern art in its most interesting, avant-garde form. The presented collection consists of works of modern Polish artists with an emphasis on the Wrocław's neo-avant-garde.

The museum exhibits the works of such artists as Stanisław Dróżdż, Michał Diament, Wanda Gołkowska, Karol Radziszewski, Allan Sekula, and many others. The collection also contains works typical for the traditions of art movements from the 1950s to the modern times.

The museum temporarily occupies the building of the former military shelter which was built in the 1940s and is one of five constructions of that type in Wrocław. The museum's real headquarters will be the modern building located on Purkinje Street which construction is still in progress. The current building has a cafe on the roof.
