Old City Promenade is a green belt with alleys and bike tracks. It's situated in the place of former Wrocław's defensive fortifications. It surrounds the Old City from west, south, and east. Old City Promenade was entered in the register of objects of cultural heritage of Wrocław. It consists of numerous tree and shrub species, and the didactic path of architectonic, historic and natural aspects.
Podwale Street, on the other hand, is a curved street situated on the outer side of the former moat. The street, just as Promenade, was built after the demolition of the city fortifications. A lot of representative buildings are located along the street: the impressive complex of court and prison buildings with the detention ward based on Berlin's Moabit, the synagogue, and the villa of the Haase family combining features of Neo-Gothic, Neo-Baroque and Art Nouveau.Less
