Roundhouse in Wolsztyn is the only place in Europe, where passenger transport with the means of steam engines is being held regularly. Besides the train ride, a place is worth visiting because of the museum dedicated to the rail transport. Once in a year “Steam Engines Parade” and the "Miss World of Steam Engines" contest take place.
There are many precious exhibits in the museum. Most interesting of them are: speedometers used in steam engines, communication devices, sets of stamps, and many old documents concerning engine house: business telegrams, track lighthouses, original plans of extension of the facility, lists of wagons. Significant number of exhibits comes from private collections or was given by retired railway employees.
First “Steam Engines Parade” took place in 1991 and immediately aroused great interest. Nowadays, numerous vehicles brought from different towns and countries are presented during the event. Additional attraction are the rides on special wagons furnished in retro style.
