The museum mainly concerns the person of Marcin Rożek, an outstanding painter and sculptor of Polish origin. In addition, there are exhibitions dedicated to Rożak's student - Edward Przymuszala and Józef Hoene-Wroński - a philosopher and mathematician who was born in the local town. The museum is based in a house built for a Polish artist according to his own design.
In the past, the museum building served not only residential functions, but also a painting and sculpting workshop. Behind the house is a beautiful garden with stone sculptures. Currently, permanent and temporary exhibitions are being organized. In addition, the facility organizes numerous concerts, historical meetings, museum lessons and provides library collections to visitors.
Marcin Rożek was born in 1885. He studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and later in Paris. During World War II, he was arrested and taken to Auschwitz, where he died in 1944.
