The Orthodox Church of the Goddess of War was established in the 1920s. Its origins are related to the mission conducted in Masuria by the clergy of the Russian Orthodox Church. The building was registered in the register of monuments in 1983.
The appearance of the temple refers to the architecture of Russian wooden churches typical of Tver, a peripheral city in Russia, from which originated the initiator of the construction of the church and its long-time pastor - Aleksandr Awajew.
The church was erected on a rectangular plan. The bulbous domes crowning the orthodox belfry and the chancel were meant to symbolize God, as well as the heaven with the angels and the saints. The interior of the temple is very modest, devoid of ornamental paintings and decoration, there is only a white-gold iconostasis with icons from different periods.
