From the perspective of history, the Temple of Divine Providence was supposed to be one of the most important churches in Warsaw. Its construction was to be a vote of gratitude for the Constitution of 3 May. The history of the first plans for the erection of the temple dates back to the end of the 18th century. Since since then Warsaw has often been under hostile attack, the temple ultimately failed to build as planned, but today it has managed to build its contemporary version.
The Temple of Divine Providence has a very modernist exterior look. The form of the church is not accidental: it contains a narrative of historical events describing the way of Poles to freedom. It is divided into four parts: Prayer, Suffering, Order, and Culture.
Interestingly, it was initially assumed that the temple in question would be called the Temple of the Supreme Providence, which would also have the character of a supra-religious place of worship.
The temple belongs to a larger complex, which also includes the Museum of John Paul II and Primate Wyszyński and the Pantheon of Great Poles.
