Tadeusz Kościuszko's monument in Warsaw at the Iron-Gate Square was unveiled in November 2010. It shows the figure of a Polish and American general in uniform from the times when the United States struggled for independence. This is a copy of a monument in Washington by sculptor Antoni Popiel.
The copy was made by Cracovian sculptors - Anna and Wojciech Siek, while the casting took place in Gliwice Works of Technical Devices. The founders were Bank Citi Handlowy and Office of Capital City of Warsaw. It was set in the place of the former monument "To the Fallen in the Service and Defense of People's Poland".Kosciuszko's figure holds the Saratoga fortification plan, and the pedestal is surrounded by four sculptures: two eagles, Kosciuszko's image in Polish uniform accompanied by a kosynier (scytheman), and Kosciuszko's image in American uniform accompanied by a participant of the battle at Saratoga.Less
