Underground tourist routes are located in two shelters: anti-aircraft and anti-nuclear shelters. The offer includes two variants of the tour: "World War II" and "Cold War - Life in the Polish People's Republic". Each variant presents the history of the city and its inhabitants in a given period. "World War II" is also shown in the version for children under the age of 9 and presents the history of Szczecin from the perspective of urban tales and legends. After making a reservation, "The sightseeing with shivers" is also available.
The anti-aircraft shelter was built in 1941, and the underground of the city fortifications from the 18th century was partly used for its construction. It is a five-storey building and reaches 18 meters in depth. In 2014, shots have been taken there for the film "The Great Escape to the North" directed by Andrzej Fader, which had shown the further history of the heroes of the American film "The Great Escape" from 1963.Less
