Church of Saint Peter and Saint Saint Paul is a brick temple in the Gothic style, representing the type of the aisleless church. Outside the building visitors can see corbels showing the heads of the medieval inhabitants of the city. They are placed on the walls of the church and the sacristy, and they functioned as the bases for sculptures that haven't been preserved to modern times. It is also worth paying attention to the wooden plafond with dimensions 27x3 m from the beginning of the 18th century, made by Philipp Ernst Eichner.
Originally, in this place had stood a wooden church, built in 1124. It was probably the first sacral building in Szczecin. The church was burned during the Danes invasion. The building of the new one began only thirty years later. This time it was a brick building. Over the centuries, the church has been destroyed and rebuilt several times. In 1602, the ridge turret, that exists to this day, has been built onto. Currently, the temple belongs to the parish of the Polish-Catholic Church.Less
