The Philharmonic in Szczecin is considered the most important cultural institution in the entire West Pomeranian Voivodeship. Since September 2014, it has been housed in one of the most modern buildings in Poland. Numerous symphony and chamber concerts are organized here. In addition, you can admire the exhibitions of the works of the most outstanding artists, presented in the gallery "Level 4" and relax in the local cafe.
The philharmonic building was built on the site of the post-war Konzerthaus. It has four floors above ground and an underground car park. There are two professional concert halls. The first is the Symphony Hall, also called the Sun Hall. Its walls were covered with flaked metal and the numbers on the seats were embroidered with gold thread. In addition, the seats were made to order so that they absorb as much sound as possible. The second hall is the Chamber Hall, also called the Moon Hall. Its walls are black, the numbers on the seats are silver, and the room itself has the possibility of maximum blackout. Interestingly, this room is considered an "acoustic pearl" by many experts.Less
