The Maria Konopnicka Museum in Suwałki is home to the house where in 1842 a writer was born and raised for the first seven years. There are exhibitions showing the artist's life and work.
The exhibition "Maria Konopnicka 1842-1910. Behind the closed doors of time" located on the ground floor in both wings of the object. It was divided into sections, each telling about another period of Maria Konopnicka's life or work. We will find old photographs, documents, paintings, correspondence or fragments of works here. In the separate hall there is an exhibition devoted to nineteenth-century Suwałki and the period spent in the city by the writer.
In addition to the main building, the museum also houses a so-called palace, where temporary exhibitions, literary evenings and concerts are held. Behind the museum is a beautiful English-style garden.
