The ruins of the medieval Cisy castle are located in the Książ Landscape Park in Cieszów. Tourists can admire partially preserved, original fragments of the 16th-century defensive walls. The neighbourhood of the ruins is surrounded by a thick forest.
The building was built by Bolko I, the duke of Świdnica and Jawor, at the end of the 13th century. The castle was made of sandstone and had at least two floors. The original design of the castle was comprised of a circular tower and a gate. The building was surrounded by a stony, irregular wall. The road to the castle leads through a gate, reconstructed before World War II, and a new wooden bridge. The castle can be reached by three tourist routes: the Piast Castles Trail, the Cisy Castle - Struga - Trójgarb Trail, and the Trail of Uhlans of Vistula Legion.Less
