Drahim Castle
Local name: Zamek Drahim
Drahim Castle in Stary Drawsko remains in ruins. It is currently in private hands. There is a museum here. In the courtyard, within the huge walls, buildings were reconstructed in the form of half-timbered huts covered with sloping roofs. There are craft workshops, shops and a restaurant. In the courtyard you can try your hand at medieval martial arts.
Drahim Castle belonged to the Knights of St. John in the Middle Ages. It consisted of high defensive walls arranged in a quadrangle, with powerful corner towers. Inside, there were residential and farm buildings. The stronghold declined during the seventeenth century wars, and in the mid-eighteenth century it was finally destroyed during the Prussian-Russian war. Since then, it has fallen into ruin. At the beginning of the 20th century, it was purchased by the Private Automotive Museum in Otrębusy. The reconstruction of the castle is planned. For now, the courtyard has been developed and minor repairs have been made to the walls.
The castle area was developed as a tourist facility. Because there is not much left outside the outer walls, the owner built a courtyard modeled on medieval low houses. You can take a close look at the work of craftsmen and buy their products. In the courtyard there is a shooting range, sword fighting area and other medieval attractions. Fairs and show tournaments are held on summer weekends.
