Surrounded by a picturesque park, the nineteenth-century Schöna Palace in Sosnowiec now houses the museum. Inside, two permanent exhibitions were presented. Temporary exhibitions are also organized. Also on the ground floor is the representative office of the Office of Civil Status, and in the cellar is the restaurant "Belvedere".
The first permanent exhibition is called "Schonowie in Sosnowiec". It presents the history of the Schön family - the Saxon industrialists and the owners of the palace. Exposure is mainly composed of photographs and documents. The second exhibition - "Polish Contemporary Glass" presents collections of glass made in the twenty-first and twentieth centuries.
Temporary exhibitions, presented at the museum, include, among other things, the work of the most eminent contemporary painters and of the past. Here you can admire the paintings of such masters as Matejko, Malczewski, Beksiński or even Picasso. In addition, the institution organizes museum lessons, conferences and film screenings.
