Grodzisko is the oldest and one of the most valuable monuments of Sopot. These are remnants of the bulkhead, a former defensive settlement on a small hill. Visitors are invited to reconstruct the buildings, such as palisade, hut or gate.
The reconstruction of the conditions at the archaeological museum in Sopot is aimed mainly at the protection of priceless monuments and the propagation of history. Grodzisko now resembles its original form, which dates back to the Middle Ages. Visitors to the open air museum can also find medieval professions by watching the workers who played the role of former craftsmen.
At the open-air museum there is also an exhibition and education pavilion, where the oldest archaeological monuments are located. There are also audiovisual presentations, supplementing the knowledge acquired during the tour of the open-air museum.
