Ducal Tower

Local name: Wieża Książęca

Opened to the public, the restored and renovated Gothic tower hides in its interior medieval murals, magnificent portals, and antique furnishings. Visitors can see there window niches with stone benches, and in the Knightly Hall - a 14th-century polychrome made in the fresco-secco technique. The unusual character of the paintings is associated with their secular subject matter, diverging from medieval religious themes. Throughout the year, events related to the history of the facility and the region are organized in Siedlęcin.

The Tower is a laureate of several competitions for the best tourist product. The Gothic Ducal Tower was founded in the 14th century by Duke Henry I of Jawor and is one of the largest and best-preserved objects of this type in the country. In 1575, after a large fire, it was rebuilt and the fourth floor has been added. The object has remained unchanged until today. The building from 1732 until 1945 was owned by the Schaffgotsch family. After the World War II, the tower has been falling into a ruin, and its splendor was restored at the initiative of the current owner - the Chudów Castle Foundation.
