The monument was built near the main Rzeszów's promenade in 2009. The authors of the project are Cracow's artists: Agnieszka Świerzowicz-Maślaniec and Marek Maślaniec. The casting was made of bronze.

Tadeusz Nalepa is the legendary blues musician, composer, author of lyrics and guitarist. Together with the band started by himself - Breakout - he recorded 10 albums. The band existed for 13 years. Nalepa spent his youth in Rzeszów, where he finished music school in contrabass, violin and clarinet classes.

Robert Lubera, the musician who had been cooperating with Tadeusz Nalepa, during the unveiling of the monument revealed that according to the legend he and Nalepa's friends made, any young musician who will hold the bronze Nalepa's guitar fretboard for 5 minutes will get one-tenth of his talent.
