Franciszek Kotula Ethnographic Museum in Rzeszów, the section of the Regional Museum, functions since 1989. The museum gathered a rich collection of diverse items related to the history of the region. The exhibition mainly consists of traditional costumes, regional instruments and sculptures.
Thanks to this collection, visitors can get to know about rańtuch, kitlik and kryzka, see how wool shawls were decorated and what coral necklaces were worn by women during great festivals. Guests can also take a look at the peasant jewellery collection from the 19th and 20th century.The museum also displays the items that give a lot information about the old customs and traditions of local people such as masks, stars, turons, trestles and holiday decorations e.g. rich collection of Easter eggs.Less
