Radom's "Piotrówka" grodzisko is a remnant of the once defensive fortification. Currently it is an artificially sprinkled hill on a circular plan. At the foot of the hill a stone-monument was erected and stairs were built. At the top was placed a cross with a commemorative plaque. In the near future it is planned to create here the Old Radom Cultural Park.
Grodzisko is considered to be the birthplace of Radom. Its origins date back to the 10th century. The object was protected by a wooden-earth shaft and two moats supplemented with water from the nearby Mleczna river. Inside were small houses and a wooden church. St. Peter - the oldest Temple in Radom. It's from the name of the grodzisk.
At the turn of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, there was a cemetery in this area. In later years, the fort was used by the partitioning forces as a storage space and for carrying out exercises. In the twentieth century archaeological excavations were started here.
