Museum of Firefighting

Local name: Muzeum Pożarnictwa

The first such museum created in Pomerania. In his collection there are fire trucks, alarms, a collection of helmets and uniforms, medals and decorations, two fire brigades of 1925 and a collection of archival documents. The most interesting exhibits include horse and hand wooden hops and old motopumps. Some exhibits come from abroad - former GDR, USSR and Switzerland.

The museum owes its origin to Commander Leon Deyek, who for several decades served in the OSP in Przodków. Throughout his professional career, he was fascinated by the collection of equipment and accessories related to the profession of firefighter. His collection of about 120 exhibits has become the basis for the museum. In 2016, on the first anniversary of the death of Leon Deyka, the museum received his name.

The OSP unit in the Ancestors was created in 1923. It was composed by Jan Ptach and Brunon Szymichowski. The next president was Leon Deyk. The watchtower was put into use in 1984. The first flag of firefighters was awarded in 1989. The unit belongs to the National Rescue and Firefighting System.
