In the former Jesuit church in Przemysl since 1991 is located the Greek Catholic Church of the Holy Mother of God. St. John the Baptist. Inside the magnificent Baroque church with a two-story facade, you can admire Moved from Lubaczów in 1993, a magnificent 17th-century iconostasis recognized as one of the most valuable in Poland. There is also a plaque commemorating the transfer of the church by Pope John Paul II diocese of Byzantine-Ukrainian. In front of the council is a contemporary belfry screen.
Since 1784 the function of the Greek Catholic Church was performed by the Carmelite church, which was returned to the original owners in 1945. By the decision of Pope John Paul II, the Greek Catholic faithful received the former Jesuit temple. St. Ignacy Loyola, in which since 1904 housed the garrison church of St. John. Heart of Jesus.
Erected in the first half of the 17th century, the temple was founded by Anna from Tyrawskie Ulińska. In the years 1672-1772 a reconstruction took place. After the abolition of the Jesuit Order, the church served as a military warehouse until 1885. Abandoned, he fell down. From the demolition he saved him and restored the splendor of Bishop Jozef Pelczar.
