Piast Route Museum of Miniatures

Local name: Skansen Miniatur Szlaku Piastowskiego

The Miniature Open-air Museum of the Piast Trail is the oldest object of this type in Poland. It was founded at the end of the last century. Its purpose is to present the buildings of Greater Poland cities, as well as to show the spatial structure of the Piast Route and the process of development and shaping of Polish statehood. There are thirty-five models made in 1:20 scale in the park.

The miniatures were built with incredible precision. Durable materials were used to make them. The skeletons were made of aluminum, the outer part was made of plastic or the same materials that were used to build the originals. Walking around the museum, we can admire miniatures of such objects as: the Poznań Opera, the Old Market in Poznań, the Palace in Rogalin, the Mouse Tower, Biskupin, the Cathedral in Gniezno, and the farmstead.
