Wielkopolski Ethnographic Park
Local name: Wielkopolski Park Etnograficzny
The open-air museum is located on Lake Lednickie and presents the construction and everyday life of the villagers from the Wielkopolska region. The layout of a traditional village from the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries was reconstructed on an oval plan. The court sector is located in its vicinity. The museum organizes many outdoor events, showing what field works and traditions of the region's inhabitants looked like.
The Wielkopolska Ethnographic Park was opened in 1982. It is part of the Museum of the First Piasts in Lednica. It shows the lives of inhabitants of former villages from Greater Poland. Huts, barns, residential buildings and small rural architecture were moved here from various places of the region. The oldest objects date back to the beginning of the 17th century, while the youngest dates from 1935.
The interiors of the rural cottages have been recreated in the buildings. Original home furnishings, furniture, dishes, decorations and household appliances are found here. The decor changes depending on the season. Next to the reconstructed village you can see court buildings and farm facilities.
