Niesytno Castle in Płonin

Local name: Zamek Niesytno w Płoninie

The stronghold is located on the trail of the Piast Castle. Until today, a medieval tower with a characteristic spike has been preserved, which together with the tower in Bolków are the only buildings of this type in Silesia, as well as large fragments of walls and living quarters. Restoration and conservation works have been underway for several years, but it is still a long way to lift the building from ruin. Ultimately, a hotel and conference center is to be built here.

The castle was first mentioned in 1432. Its history is associated with the Hussites, as well as robber knights who were to live here in the 15th century. the life of the court. The castle became a granary and warehouse, it also began to deteriorate. After 1945, the building was not damaged during the war and was used as a summer camp. In 1992, the building was consumed by a fire.

The castle rises on a rocky promontory of a low hill (550 m above sea level). The entrance to the castle area leads through the lower courtyard to the rectangular terrace, but visiting is only possible from the outside (due to renovation works). The property is in private hands.
