Wojanów Palace

Local name: Pałac w Wojanowie

The Wojanów Palace serves today as a cozy hotel and conference complex which can be visited by groups of over 20 people. The attraction of the palace is the richly decorated ballroom and paintings on one of the towers. It also consists of a cafe and two restaurants. The complex organizes temporary exhibitions and many cultural events. The building with corner towers and the spacious courtyard is surrounded by the several-dozen-hectares landscape park.

The impressive Renaissance palace was built at the beginning of the 17th century for Baron von Zedlitz. During the Thirty Years' War, it was burnt by Swedish forces. It was rebuilt in Baroque style at the end of the 17th century with a use of remains of the wall. The current look was achieved in the most recent reconstruction which was carried out between 1832 and 1834. During World War II, the palace consisted of labor camp for forced workers, while after the war it operated as State Agricultural Farm which ruined the place.

In 2002 a fire broke out and deepened the damage. The palace was thoroughly reconstructed in 2005-2007 by its new owner, who bought the place several dozen years ago. It was one of the biggest revalorizations of the complex thanks to which all of the objects of the former landed property together with romantic landscape park were brought to their former glory.
