The museum is housed in a Renaissance defensive court. It has archaeological, historical, ethnographic and natural collections, gathered in seven extensive permanent exhibitions. You can find here an exhibition of peasant farms and an exhibition dedicated to old blacksmithing. Part of the collection presents the fauna of Poland. Two others relate to outstanding inhabitants of Pabianice - Jan Szulc and Henryk Debich.
Quite surprising from the other exhibitions, the large African collection was created thanks to doctor Witold Eichler, who donated his collection to the museum. They include unique exhibits, such as complete witch costumes with masks and hatchets symbolizing tribal power from the 1920s.
The museum also regularly organizes temporary exhibitions dedicated to, among others wildlife, archeological discoveries from the country and the world, ancient cultures, folklore and Pabianice itself.
