This monumental building in the shape of a semi-round is located in the center of the city park. Its style was to refer to Gothic Teutonic castles. It was built to commemorate the fallen German soldiers during the battles fought in the vicinity of Olecko in 1914. Currently, it serves as an amphitheater.
The monument was unveiled in 1927. It is 20 m wide and 10 m high. It was the second largest building of this type in East Prussia. It had an inscription on the inside of the wall: "God, hear our pleas and make a strong Germany rise again". Although the monument has survived in a very good condition to this day, the inscription did not survive.
In the 1930s, places like this were used in Prussia to organize propaganda rallies. German youth trips also came to the Olecko monument. The need for retaliation for the fallen was instilled in them, and the vision of Germany as a great power was shown.
