Głazowisko Bachanowo Nature Reserve is one of a kind place which consists of a large number of erratic boulders. It is estimated that about ten thousand boulders of different sizes are scattered around on the area of one hectare.
The reserve is located in Suwałki Landscape Park, south to the lake of Hańcza, near Bachanowo. The erratic boulders are remnants of the glacier from Scandinavia. There are largely sandstones, granites, granite-gneisses, syenites, limestones, basalts, rhyolites, gneisses, melaphyres, and porphyries. They are covered with numerous species of very rare lichens and mosses.
The boulders are situated on four trails: the riverbed of the Czarna Hańcza, the valley's bottom, the observation deck at a height of 10 m above the river, and the outwash plain at a height of 25 m above the water surface. The reserve is partially protected and its terrains are used for pasturage.
