Cisowa Góra - 365 m
Local name: Cisowa Góra - 365 m n.p.m.
Cisowa Mountain (256 m above sea level) is a hill located in the Suwałki Landscape Park. It was created by a frontal moraine. It is an excellent vantage point. The panorama stretching at the foot of the mountain is one of the most beautiful in the Suwalki region. You can admire the picturesque Szeszupa basin, numerous lakes, meadows, peat bogs, moraine hills and the village of Gulbieniszki.
The name of the mountain comes from the yew tree, which probably once grew on its top. However, this is not the only term for this elevation. It is also referred to as "Suwałki Fujairama" because it resembles a cone of a volcano, and also "Mount Sypana" because there is a legend that says that the mountain was made of earth excavated during the creation of Lake Kopana.
At the top of Góra Cisowa a cross and a plaque commemorating the pilgrimage of John Paul II to Poland in 1999 were erected. "Suwałki Fujairama" became a symbol of the Suwałki region.
