The Central Museum of Firefighting has existed in Mysłowice since 1975. It collects everything that is connected to the history of firefighting: from banners, through uniforms, to fire trucks. The Museum in Mysłowice is the largest institution of this type in Poland and one of the largest in Europe.
In the Central Museum of Firefighting there is a rich collection of firefighting equipment and old objects related to the firefighter’s profession. At permanent exhibitions there are uniforms (formal, battle) and firefighter's banners, various helmets (fire and leather, including helmet from 1860), as well as fire trucks, motor pumps and manual and carriage fire pumps.In addition to securing and permanently displaying valuable memorabilia related to the firefighting history in Poland, the Central Museum of Firefighting in Mysłowice also organizes thematic time exhibitions, supports the work of the firefighters and commemorates those who devoted their lives to this difficult work.Less
