The historic welded bridge in Maurzyce on the Słudwia river is the world's first road welded bridge. It is located in the town of Maurzyce, near Łowicz, in the Łódź Province. The facility is 27 meters long, 6.8 meters wide and weighs 56 tons. A square with benches has been prepared for tourists.
The bridge according to the design of prof. Stefan Bryła was put into use in 1929. K. Rudzki i S-ka from Mińsk Mazowiecki is responsible for its implementation. Engineers Władysław Tryliński and Wenczesław below also collaborated on this project.
The welded bridge in Maurzyce was part of the former European road route E8, then E30 and then national road 92. The bridge construction ceased to meet road traffic requirements and in 1977 it was moved about 20 m north. In its former place, a speech bridge was erected along the national route. In 2009, a general renovation of the bridge in Maurzyce took place, after its completion the facility was made available to the public.
