A romantic English-style garden was established at the turn of the 18th and 9th centuries. Szymon Bogumił Zug was its main designer and architect. In 1945, the garden in Arkadia and the nearby park and palace complex in Nieborów became branches of the National Museum in Warsaw.
The originator of the creation of the park was Helena née Przeździecki, wife of Michał Hieronim Radziwiłł, the owner of land in nearby Nieborów. In 1778, the duchess began the construction of the garden. She composed and created it all her life until 1821, when she died. According to the assumption of the English garden, there are plenty of buildings stylized for picturesque ruins. These include: Gothic House, Aqueduct, Greek Stone Arch, Sybil's Cave, Circus, Temple of Diana, House of Murgrabi, Wall with Hermas, Shrine of the High Priest. The Skierniewka River flows through the garden creating a picturesque pond with two islets.Less
