The Gothic Church of the Holy Spirit in Łowicz, built in 1404, is the oldest religious building in Łowicz. The biggest attraction for visitors is medieval figure of the Mother Divine and Child from around 1500. At present, the church houses the Roman Catholic parish of the Łowicz diocese.
The church has numerous chapels and sculptures, funded by powerful people from the region of the Duchy of Lowicz from the 15th to the 18th century. Over the centuries, the church has been destroyed and rebuilt many times. In the 17th century, a parish school, hospital and shelter existed at the church
The furnishings of the Holy Spirit Church in Łowicz come mostly from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. In addition to religious art facilities, the church is equipped with a number of movable monuments; from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries.
