Avenue of Stars

The Avenue of Stars is located at Piotrkowska street and is based on the Hollywood "Walk of Fame". At even numbers of the buildings on Piotrkowska street are stars of directors and operators, while at the odd numbers of the buildings are brass stars of actors.

The originator of the Łódź Avenue of Stars was Jan Machulski. The shape of the star was designed by Andrzej Pągowski. The project was implemented by Łódź artist Michał Stahl. The first brass star was set in 1998 for actor Andrzej Seweryn.

Among the brass directors' stars are: Andrzej Wajda, Roman Polański, Krzysztof Kieślowski, Agnieszka Holland, Stanisław Bareja, Jerzy Hoffman, and many others. Among the actors distinguished in the Łódź Avenue of Stars, there are such celebrities as: Pola Negri, Beata Tyszkiewicz, Krystyna Janda, Gustaw Holoubek, Tadeusz Łomnicki, Daniel Olbrychski, Janusz Gajos, Marek Kondrat, and many others.
