Museum of the Leżajsk Land

Local name: Muzeum Ziemi Leżajskiej

The main seat of the Museum is the 18th-century Starościński Manor. The idea that guided the founders from the beginning was to present the multiculturalism of the Leżajsk region.

The facility has three permanent exhibitions: Historic City and Region, Ethnographic and Toy, as well as Brewery. Tourists can also visit the underground of Starościński Manor. The museum organizes temporary exhibitions, film screenings and seminars. Museum lessons and ceramic workshops are planned for the youngest.

The oldest exhibit of the Museum existing since 2008 is the reconstruction of the cemetery of crematory Lusatian culture from VI-V century BC. It is also worth seeing the valuable official seal from 1778, on the basis of which the municipal coat of arms was determined. The collection also includes a nineteenth-century lathe used for making toys and the region's most typical toy - the klepak bird, whose enlarged model is located at the entrance to the courtyard. Beer lovers can learn the secrets of its production.
