Church of St. John the Baptist

Local name: Kościół św. Jana Chrzciciela

.The Church of St. John the Baptist was built in the 17th century for the Evangelical Reformed community. After Wolrd War II, it was taken over and thoroughly renovated by the Catholic Church. The interior consists of, among others, frescos on the nave's vault from around 1716, 18th-century epitaphs, the two-story matroneum from the second half of the 19th century, and the decorative pulpit from 1720.

A characteristic element of the church is the 60-meter tower topped by balustrade decorated with four brass clock faces. It is covered with a Baroque tented roof with a cross with a pentagonal star. The church's interior is simple. Its Baroque-like decor comes from 1716. The object is a single-nave building with the pentagonally closed presbytery. It has a typical Protestant aisless arrangement with balconies at both sides of the 18th-century nave.

The church was constructed for a community of Unity of the Brethren. Later, it served Polish and German communities. It was destroyed several times throughout the ages. After the thorough renovation in 1972, St. John the Baptist's Parish was established here. There is also the chapel of the Gruszczyński Family from 1711, and the sundial from 1653.
