Tadeusz Kosciuszko Square

Local name: Plac Tadeusza Kościuszki

The square called the old town or the market square is surrounded by colorful, restored middle-class tenement houses from the 19th century. On the Finger stands the Classicist town hall , built in the 18th century. The biggest tourist attraction of the Finger is the Royal Castle, built by Casimir the Great. The historic market underwent revitalization in 2012.

Next to the town hall, on the square stands the monument of the Virgin Mary. The monument commemorates the inhabitants of Łęczyca, who after the end of World War I in 1918, disarmed German soldiers.

On the Square you can see the Monument to the Heroes of the Battle of Bzura from 1939. The monument commemorates fallen soldiers and city residents murdered during the Nazi occupation during World War II.
