Collegiate Church Blessed Virgin Mary and Saint. Aleksego is a massive, stone, three-nave granite structure built in the 12th century. One of the most interesting monuments in the Collegiate Church is the Romanesque portal from 1160 with a tympanum depicting the Mother of God with the Child with two angels and carved bestiaries on the capitals of the columns. It is the largest monument of this type in Poland and a must-see for interesting Romanesque churches of Western Europe.
The temple has corner, soaring towers of a defensive nature. The entrance to the church is decorated with a sandstone portal, further visible is the raw interior and the Renaissance and medieval frescoes. An impressive, slim, rainbow arch decorating the interior makes an impression.
The collegiate church of Łęczycka gave the name of the town of Tum - formerly the collegiate church and the cathedral were called tumów, hence the name of the village began. The church is held at all times, which makes it the oldest surviving active temple in Poland.
