The Museum of Municipal Engineering in Kraków is located in place of the former tram depot of the first Kraków's narrow-gauge tram. The museum's collection presents the development of mechanical transport in Kraków. Another collection is dedicated to the urban engineering and the history of the power station, gasworks, and city technics.
The museum was established in 1998 in the renovated building of the tram depot on Gertruda Street. The main exhibition is dedicated to the city transport. Apart from trams and buses which had been driven on the Kraków streets, the museum presents Polish and foreign cars.The separate section shows items related to various services and urban engineering (heat, gas, water, and electricity delivery). The exhibitions also displays devices used in households, offices or industrial plants. There is also a section dedicated to the history of carrying sound and image.Less
