The Museum of Live Butterflies is located in the very center of Kraków in one of the tenement houses on Grodzka Street. It's a unique place where visitors have an opportunity to touch and see the most exotic butterflies from up close. They fly slowly in the room, sit on the equipment, plants and guests.
The museum was established in 2014. It occupies the rooms of a monumental tenement house in the center of Kraków. Unlike botanical gardens where butterflies are placed in special glass containers, they live here as if it was their natural environment. It's hot in the rooms. There are also tropical plants. Food and water containers are placed everywhere. The species include mostly exotic butterflies which don't inhabit the Polish environment. The largest specimens have a wingspan of 15 cm. Among butterflies, the museum is inhabited by small birds.Less
