Manggha Museum of Japanese Art and Technology is the only cultural facility of that type in Poland. Since its opening in 1994, it combines a museum with a cultural institution. The museum promotes the knowledge on the subject of Japan and the Far East. The modern building designed by Arata Isozaki draws inspiration from the old Japanese art. It consists of numerous exhibition halls and conference rooms. Apart from the permanent exhibition, the facility also organizes temporary exhibitions dedicated to Japanese art, culture, and technics.
Manggha Museum of Japanese Art and Technology gives numerous classes such as tea ceremony, Ikebana (flower arrangement), and Japanese language. It also gives an opportunity to learn about traditional art, music, theatre, filmmaking, literature, philosophy, and religion of Japan and the Far East. The facility conducts research dedicated to the cultural relationships between Poland and Japan. The museum is also a headquarters of Polish Bonsai Club.Less
